Vandals destroy St. Anthony

Cologne - It happened on the night of Wednesday: unknown face in front of the Hospital of St. Agatha Niehler the "Saint Anthony" from its pedestal - right outside the main entrance.
The head of the two-meter tall statue breaks off. Next comes the Zerstörungszug: In a hallway of the hospital, the Vandals break apart a wooden cross. The damage is not discovered until the next morning, witnesses do not exist.
Police spokesman George Kraushaar explained: "The perpetrators must at some point between 22 clock at night and have watched the stroke of six clock in the morning. There has been reports of criminal damage. "The nearly seventy year old statue can not be repaired - the damage is too great.
Uwe Kreuzburg, nursing director of the hospital: "It's totally annoying. Unfortunately, one must always reckon with property damage if the door is open for everybody. "
Whether it is a new figure of a saint, is still unclear.
